The CVC Comedy Show hosted by our own Rick Roberts and the finals of Wint Filipek Senior Memorial Tournament were held this weekend .  Thank you all for participating and viewing these events.  They were both a huge success!

Important notices for the week and general information

• Cardio – has started up full swing this week. Today is an exception but to assure we are properly staffed to run this program we are asking you to register by Noon the day before (Sunday at Noon for Monday Cardio, and Friday at Noon for Saturday Cardio). Register by replying to thecoppervalleyclub@gmail.com
• Adult Interclub League –the is a reminder.  Angela Heidgerd  (Women) and John Bate (Men) are requesting players for a soon to be set up Interclub League. Email us back if you are interested.  Schedule and times still to be determined.
• CVC Registration for Clinics, Lessons and Cardio – We are asking  you to fill out the registration form (link here  Member Registration Form 2018 )  You may either return the form to the tennis pro-shop, email the form back to thecoppervalleyclub@gmail.com or mail the form to PO Box 282.  There is also an option to pay by credit at the Pro-Shop with an additional 3% processing fee.  Please submit payments with your completed form.
• Contact Info – the tennis pro shop and Bruce’s cell number are listed below for court conditions, court reservations or general information.  We will also post any events or updated information on our Facebook (@TheCopperValleyClub), Twitter (@thecoppervalley) and Instagram (thecoppervalleyclub) accounts
• Guest Policies – Please review the guest policies for our club which are listed below.  If you have any questions, please email us back.
• Calendar of Events – the monthly events will be posted at the tennis Pro Shop or you can view them at https://www.coppervalleyclub.net/2017-social-events-draft/.  Please note the schedule is subject to changes.

General Guest Rules

1.  All guests must be registered by a member before using the club. All guest names shall be registered at the tennis pro shop.
2.  The CVC Staff and Board Members have the right to question anyone on club property not properly identified as a club guest or member.
3.   Each member shall be allowed unlimited guest privileges. Current guest fees apply unless otherwise stated.  A guest privilege shall consist of admission the Club (i.e. clubhouse, tennis courts and social events)
4. Guest Passes:
   1. Household Guests – Club Members are allowed a maximum total of  three (3) daily guest passes for household personnel to the  club per season. (A household guest is a spouse, child or adult who lives in the member’s resident home)
   2. Individual Guests – Any individual guest is limited to a maximum of three (3)  daily guest privileges to the club per season.
   3. Other – Any extenuating circumstances will need to be approved by the Club Manager or Board of Governor Executive Board before using the facilities.  Examples are:
      1. Out-of-town guests using the club greater than allowed by the rules
      2. Grandparents visiting for extended periods of time
      3. Friends of a junior member using the club more than the rule allows but their family is not a membe

Also register for the CVC Comedy Show this Friday June 8th!!!  CVC is holding this in conjunction with the Cheshire High School Boy’s Tennis Team.

• CVC Registration for Clinics, Lessons and Cardio – will take place from 10AM to 1PM both Saturday June 9th and Sunday June 10th.  Come watch the French Open, the semi and finals of the Wint Filipek Sr Tennis Tournament and share a dish.
• Comedy Show – Friday June 8th at 8PM at the Park & Rec Building CVC is hosting a Comedy Show with the Cheshire HS Boy’s Tennis Team.  Please register by SignupGenius soon or email us back if you plan to attend with number of guests.
• Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles – will not be held from June 4th to June 8th because of the Wint Filipek Sr. Tennis Tournament at the Club

The next time you visit the club check out the upgraded Tennis Pro Shop.  Both Bruce Levine and John Bate have been busy last month with improvements in aesthetics and tennis offerings.  Tennis racquets, balls, overgrips and other amenities plus CVC apparel (sponsored by Under-Armour) are available for purchase.  If you need your racquet restrung, Bruce will have a stringing machine onsite.   You will be able to also purchase guest passes, and register for lessons and clinics #coppervalleytennis #cttennis

On Saturday May 26th,  Bruce Levine (Director of Tennis) held a Free Ladies Open Clinic for Copper Valley Club Members and Non-Members followed by a light lunch.  Bruce offered tips in developing tennis skills along with outlining what CVC has in store for the season.  Check out the weblinks below for more information:

For the kick off of Memorial Day weekend, it was a successful event on a gorgeous day.

On Monday May 28th starting at 4PM, there is a Memorial Day BBQ.  Bring anything you wish to grill and a dish to share!  Play some tennis to celebrate the day of remembrance.

Friendly Reminder

On Saturday May 26th, the Copper Valley Club is hosting a FREE Ladies Open for ALL tennis players in the central Connecticut area!     Come and see what everyone is talking about this year. The NEW Copper Valley Tennis and Social Club.  Since 1953 CVC has served the area in a scenic wooded 25 acre setting with 5 Red-Clay and 3 Har-Tru courts.  CVC has a full tennis staff and  Pro-Shop offering  a variety clinics and lessons for all skill levels.  Please register today!.    #coppervalleytennis  #cttennis

On Saturday April 14th the Copper Valley Club continued to kick off the Tennis and Social season with an event at the Kinsmen Brewery in Southington.  The weather is beginning to turn and we will all be on the courts soon.  Spread the news around about the club’s new new membership types, competitive rates,  and an expanding Junior Tennis program.  This Saturday April 21st from 10AM- 4PM there will a Members Clean Up Day at the club followed by happy hour at Viron Rondo Osteria.  Please come by and help!.  #CopperValleyTennis  #cttennis

On Sunday March 25th, The Copper Valley Club held a Meet and Greet for all current and prospective members.  It was a great event to kick off the 2018 Season!  The next gathering is scheduled for April 14th at Kinsmen Brewery in Southington!

We had two special guests attend: Susan Riordan (USTA Northeast Coordinator) and Greg Lederer (Sports writer Cheshire Herald).  CVC will be working closely with the USTA team to expand our presence in the Northeast market as well as improving our Junior Tennis offerings.   Wint Filipek and Bruce Levine were both interviewed by Greg for an upcoming article.   Wint discussed his Wint Filipek Senior Memorial Tournament  to be held at CVC from June 2-10.   Bruce introduced the club’s tennis and social events/activities for the upcoming season.  Bruce will be up to CVC soon after his tennis season at Muhlenberg College is completed.
