Hundreds of tennis players and guests have been enjoying our courts and beautiful grounds during these first few days of the Filipek Tennis Tournament.

   

The tournament raises money for college scholarships and to support our local communities and has donated over $100,000 during its 11 years.

   

It’s great to see so many CVC members playing in the tournament, as well as visitors from throughout the state and beyond.

Come out and see some great tennis. The tournament continues through Championship Sunday on June 11.

Championship Sunday at the Filipek Tennis Tournament at Copper Valley Club featured stunning tennis matches, friendly crowds of spectators, and gorgeous weather. 

Over the years, the tournament has donated over $130,000 to college scholarships and community organizations. CVC is proud to be a part of this event and host the tournament for the third consecutive year on its clay courts and shady grounds.

This year, CVC members won two of the championship matches, with Abby Murphy winning Junior Girls Singles and Angela Heidgerd winning Women C Singles.

Congratulations to the champions and to all the participants, as well as the Filipek committee and this year’s scholarship winners.

Congratulations to the champions and finalists in the 2015 Filipek Tennis Tournament. Copper Valley Club was proud to host for the second year, and it was thrilling to see great matches and crowds of tennis fans from throughout the region cheering on the players.

Now in its 11th year, the Filipek has given over $100,000 in scholarships to Connecticut student athletes.

There were many fantastic matches throughout the tournament. The Men C Singles final, though, was perhaps the one that caused the most crowd reaction. It had started at 8 a.m., and by the time the players were nearing the end of a third set tiebreaker at 11 a.m., quite a crowd had gathered to cheer on the players.

The Copper Valley Swim and Tennis Club of Cheshire, CT, is proud to announce it is hosting the Wint Filipek Tennis Tournament this June. The charitable tennis tournament, in its 11th year, has raised over $85,000 to benefit Connecticut student-athletes and surrounding communities. The Filipek tournament is one of New England’s largest charitable tennis tournaments, attracting over 700 entries last year.

The 2015 Filipek Tennis Tournament will be held June 6-14. Tennis players of all level are welcome, including 22 divisions for men, women, high school students, seniors, and juniors.

Copper Valley Club features eight clay and Har-Tru tennis courts, beautiful shady grounds, convenient parking, and swimming and dive pools that players are invited to use during the tournament. Tournament players will also have the opportunity to play on hard courts in the area.

The tournament provides a free tennis clinic and fun day on June 7 for area children, which 130 kids attended in 2014.
